It was a glowing Saturday,  together with one of the greatest social activists that Rio de Janeiro has produced.

Sebastiao Oliveira, from Miratus NGO, showed what he has achieved in eight years at a training center with vocational school, in community of Chacrinha, Rio de Janeiro.

Calm, quiet voice, always leaving the student to understand his error first, yet humble in recognizing that learns with the students.

Sebastiao also brought a video of his portfolio at Chacrinha to raise a building that now houses the gym and rooms for courses and social projects in their place. It is an example for national award. Nets, rackets and shuttlecocks help hundresds of children, since.

Badminton came to Brazil with the British in the nineteenth century. Is still little publicized but has become popular in a fewer cities, at least. Thanks to the project Miratus, Sebastian has developed a method, Bamon, and has juvenile champions of Brazil and South America.

Thanks to Maria Mazello, directrice of Cambaúba School, our neighborhood  entered the circle of good will of Miratus. Our NGO got  volunteers on the course placed at Cambaúba’s, for free, and we will contact all the teachers who came to the course, to maintain a network of common interests to Badminton.

Sr. Jayme, our president, was impressed. Already chosen six communities in terms of getting the sport. Some places have blocks, other, outdoors, to begin to attract businesses and sponsors.

Building in Haiti

French colony in the Caribbean Spanish, the scenario of pirates, slave traders, wars and conquests, half a large island in the Caribbean Sea, within the Bermuda Triangle.
